INFANT OSTEOPATHY

Infant osteopathy studies the alignment of the bone structure throughout the baby and child's growth. It is concerned with maintaining the alignment, elasticity (mobility) and mechanical function of the infant's musculoskeletal system in order to prevent future complications, such as posture alterations and pain.

Evaluates and corrects joints and body structures that have lost mobility through manual and gentle techniques, in order to release tensions in the baby's skull, spine and pelvis. These dysfunctions can be related to the embryonic position of the baby and/or the moment of birth (instrumental deliveries - suction cups and forceps, and caesarean sections).

These misalignments interfere with the body's ability to co-ordinate and control all phases of child growth and development. Thus, infant osteopathy can help to correct these problems, through very delicate but effective adjustments. A visit to a child osteopath is advisable from the first weeks of life, in order to identify and prevent some of these problems.
Infant osteopathy helps to correct the following cases:

 Torticolis

Human deformities of the skull (plagiocephaly)

 Postural changes

Digestive disorders (colic, reflux and constipation)

 Sleep disorders

 Problems with breastfeeding

Screaming and excessive crying, among others
